GUJING DISTILLERY - Heritage Cellar Baijiu 古井贡·功勋池 (500ml / 52% Vol.)
The history of baijiu spans centuries, as the grand chancellor and warlord Cao Cao presented the Han emperor with a spirit-making recipe as early as 196AD. This document has been certified by Guinness World Records as the oldest spirits recipe in existence. Based on these ancient methods, Gujing distillery’s spirit-makers have been continuously refining their craft for centuries, creating extraordinary spirits which were gifted to the emperors of the Han, Ming and Qing dynasties.
This Heritage Cellar baijiu originates from Gujing distillery’s Ming dynasty cellars, and represents the distillery’s masterful application of ancestral brewing methods. It is a limited-edition collector’s item, available exclusively to duty free retail.
The spirit from Gujing distillery is known as ‘the peony of baijiu’. This uniquely flavourful spirit boasts aromas of grain, citrus, mango, pineapple and little white flower, with a long, fragrant finish. A striking embodiment of that epithet.
Traditionally enjoyed neat, it is also excellent served with pineapple juice and in cocktails.
